As the CEO of VanHack, he fosters economic development by empowering international tech talent to get the skills and connections they need to join the Canadian startup scene.
He is also a mentor at Spring, where he has helped grow the program into one of Western Canada’s largest early stage incubators.
Fred started his career in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil working at Accenture Technology and 3 high-tech start-ups before moving to Vancouver, Canada with a job at a medical software development company.
In 1996 Fred and 4 colleagues founded AeroInfo Systems a high-tech company focused on software products for aviation. Four years later AeroInfo was acquired by the BOEING Company.
Fred is a guest speaker at UBC Entrepreneurship class, advisory & board member at a few organizations, panel member at Portugal Ventures, speaker at Rio-Info Conference, and start-ups coach and mentor.

When and how does interview practices happen?
Our group Interview practice sessions run every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night for 2 hours from 4PM to 6PM PST. We use Zoom as our conference call session and all interview practice sessions are recorded and put online for any member to watch in the future. You can see an example interview practice here.
